As my graduation project at university I decided to, alongside one friend, study how to make public interest journalism for teenagers. Besides the research, we’ve also made an experimental website called WTF to create some content about politics, economics, diversity, human rights and environment for teenagers.
Besides using a more unformal language, we’ve also experimented several formats to present the news: videos, pictures, lists, podcast, quizzes and infographics. We also made sure to make teenagers a part of every article, as well as using social media to promote the content produced.
We ended up receiving a 10 from university, the maximum mark possible, and the feedback from teenagers was also really positive.
